Zoo Enclosures

Spider Monkeys

- Tree

These are the trees I plan on using for this zoo enclosure. These trees are similar, if not in, their natural environment. Of course, they will be less wild looking, but they are similar enough. These trees are good for climbing because they can grab onto the rivets. Another reason is that they can feel safe in these trees. The canopy they will produce will make them feel safe as well as completely covered in shade if they temp calls for it.

- Boulders

These are the boulders I will be using in the zoo enclosure. The reason why I'm using this because I want them to feel nature to its best ability. Sure, rocks aren't technically alive, but they serve its purpose. They can use it as leverage to climb on trees, hide behind, whatever it is they want. These boulders are also for decoration. They will be real, but they are also to show nature in its true magnificence.

- Grass

This grass will also be used for the zoo enclosure. I know it probably won't stay this green, but it can serve its purpose. The purpose of the grass is to make the monkeys more comfortable. Ever been out in the heat? Do you know how hot rock, sand, or concrete can get? This will save the monkeys from that torment. There will be nice, cool grass for them to rest on or whatever purpose they decide on. No matter what would they find this uncomfortable.

- Water

This water will also be used in the zoo enclosure. The use for this is simple; they need water. Why not make getting it more natural for them? Not only that, but it can be fun too. They can mess around in the water if they'd like, perhaps just to splash around. They can also use it to cool off on hot days that are very common here! This water has many uses, but it will also make them feel as if they're on an island. What could be more natural?

What do they eat?

These monkeys mostly eat fruit, but hey can also eat seeds, leaves, and dead wood (although the wood is more rare). All of this will be provided in their sanctuary. The fruit will be placed in a large red bucket and will be refilled whenever its empty. However, just like meerkats, these monkeys are foragers. They will eat what they eat during day.
